William Riley and Linda Carroll
Bill and Linda are family to me... They have both been dear friends and mentors to me
as well as giving me an expanded knowledge of dealing with vocal rehabilitation issues
with my students. When a singer is in crisis mode due to an injury, they are the
best of the best. If you've read a book on vocal health, more than likely, there's a chapter
in it written by Linda Carroll. They also introduced me to Gwen Korovin, Peak Woo,
Joan Lader, Ingo Titze, Keith Saxon, Robert Sataloff, Johan Sundberg, and numerous
members of the vocal research community, which I admire dearly. Bill and I both worked
with Virginia Botkin in Texas. A meal and a few games of "Chicken Foot Dominoes"
is always a welcome event.
